When batteries fail, especially in larger automotive and industrial batteries, it can be catastrophic. Limiting the amount of cells that are damaged is crucial for the future, and this rig is designed to test batteries to failure. By heating up abrasive and shooting it a batteries, companies can cause failures in order to test different cell walls and battery compositions. Battery innovations center contracted my employer to design and quote a system that could meet these requirements in order to help them better develop batteries for the future. They needed multiple levels of adjustment, flexibility, as well as a complete controls system.
